1. I debated how to do a display for Black History Month in the teen area. So many of the inspirations i looked at limited black history to African American history, but I think there’s a lot more than that. 

    Then I read Hannah Gomez’s post over at YALSA’s blog and got inspired. I have a large black population in my community, and so I have a nice collection of fiction and non-fiction by and about black authors/characters. I thought nailing home the point about reading these books every month — even if they’re called out in one display this month — was important. 

    It’s also as much a reminder to me and others who work at the library that these stories should show up in every relevant display, not just this one every February.
